About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced professional with a passion for identifying potential weaknesses and crafting innovative solutions to eliminate them. As a Product Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing engineering and product teams with the web, mobile, or native-code security expertise necessary to make confident product decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Security Reviews: Perform manual design and implementation reviews of products and services within the Meta ecosystem, including Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, Portal, and more.
  2. Automated Analysis and Secure Frameworks: Collaborate with software engineers to build automation (static and dynamic analysis) and frameworks that enable Meta to scale consistently across all of its products.
  3. Developer Guidance: Provide guidance and education to developers on best practices to prevent vulnerabilities from being authored.
  4. Bug Bounty: Assist in providing technical guidance to our world-class bug bounty program and independent security researchers.
  5. Industry Impact: Contribute to pushing the industry forward through conference talks and open-source projects to contribute broadly to security for the world.

Requirements:

  1. Education: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages (php, python, ruby). Knowledge of best practice secure code development.
  3. Vulnerability Exploitation: Experience with exploiting common security vulnerabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Security Community Contributions: Contributions to the security community (public research, blogging, presentations, bug bounty, etc.).
  2. Software Development: Experience writing software that enables security processes.

Compensation:

$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Industry: Internet.
