About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Engineer to join our team at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS). As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems in assigned facilities.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring that equipment is being maintained in a safe manner, minimizing downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance. You will also be responsible for complying with all applicable codes, regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds as it pertains to assigned building(s).
  • Inspect building HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
  • Perform assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Review historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and follow prescribed routines to service locations in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of seven years experience as a certified refrigerant technician.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience in industrial environments and working on industrial HVAC units.
  • Certification in two or more of the following preferred: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair as well as CFC Certification.
  • Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operating budgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
Safety

Responsible for personal safety and the safety of those who are affected by your work. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Complete all required and assigned HSE training at a satisfactory level.
  • Follow all activity policies and procedures, including all HSE-related requirements at all times.
  • Participate in all HSE-related programs & activities as required, including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment, etc.
  • Report any conditions which you feel could result in an accident or injury and / or stop work if required.
