Medical Assistant

This role is responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. Your duties will include preparing patients for examinations, facilitating testing and procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by recording vital signs, medical history, and current medications.
- Assist healthcare providers with minor procedures and physicals.
- Maintain medical equipment and supplies, including sterilization.
- Give injections and apply casts, splints, and dressings as ordered.
- Process patient messages and referrals to healthcare providers.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) required.
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant or comparable internship.
- BLS Certificate required.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to multitask and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with computers and EMR software.
This role requires working in an office/medical clinic setting with frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a medical clinic environment. You must be able to work under stress in emergency situations and meet deadlines.
