Job Title: Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Chesapeake Oncology Hematology Associates.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms and complete patient intake according to protocol
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms between patients
  • Prepare and administer injections, as well as assist with injectable procedures
  • Prepare and route pathology and lab specimens to the correct lab
  • Respond to patient questions and schedule appointments as instructed by the physician
  • Work in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards
  • Maintain medication samples and discard out-of-date supplies
  • Train other employees on medical assistant duties as required
  • Assist with front desk procedures as needed
Requirements:
  • At least one year of medical assisting experience (preferred)
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
  • Professionalism and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with doctors and patients
