Job SummaryWe are seeking a Full-time Health Service Technician to join our Adult Crisis unit or Child Adolescent Unit. As a Health Service Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support services to our clients. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness, addiction, and other behavioral health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor vital signs and communicate findings to nursing staff
- Assist with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Prepare clients for medical treatments or examinations
- Provide feeding assistance to clients who require it
- Support clients with mobility activities, such as walking, exercising, and transferring
- Safely transport clients to different unit areas, using wheelchairs when necessary
- Facilitate recreational and social activities for clients
- Observe and accurately document patient data, behavior, and activities
- Ensure the safety and security of clients at all times
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one year of experience working with behavioral health clients
- Ability to identify patient limitations and adapt care accordingly
- Proficiency in body mechanics, including lifting, standing, and turning
- Knowledge of safety procedures for moving patients
- Capability to identify and assess bedsores
- Skill in monitoring and accurately reporting client behavior
- Medical Assistance: Proficiency in taking vital signs, preparing clients for medical treatments, and providing feeding assistance
- Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately observe and document patient data, behavior, and activities
- Mobility Assistance: Skill in assisting clients with mobility activities
- Communication: Effective communication skills to report findings to nursing staff and interact with clients
- Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrated empathy and compassion in providing personal care and supporting clients' emotional well-being
