About the Role

This Dental Surgical Assistant role is critical in delivering exceptional patient care, resulting in the best clinical outcomes and meeting patient needs. The successful candidate will assist surgeons during procedures, perform preoperative and postoperative duties, verify patient identities, and maintain aseptic technique.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preoperative and postoperative tasks to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Verify patient identities and operative sites accurately.
  • Discuss surgical procedures with the surgeon, including consent and exposure methods.
  • Maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures.
  • Ensure an unobstructed operative field using retractors, sponges, suctioning equipment, and irrigation tools.
  • Determine availability of necessary equipment and supplies for procedures.
  • Inspect and obtain sterile and non-sterile equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Operate sterilization devices as needed.
  • Monitor patient status during procedures.
  • Obtain dental radiographs and imaging.
  • Complete patient clinical narratives.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification required or ability to complete within one month of hire.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred.
  • DAANCE certification preferred.
  • Licensed dental assistant preferred.
  • Radiology certification preferred.
