Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CDL Driver to join our team at Phoenix Metals, a leading metal distribution company with a strong presence in the United States. As a CDL Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of merchandise, materials, and equipment to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating over 26,001 lbs. to deliver or pick up merchandise, materials, and equipment to assigned regional and/or local destinations.
  • Load and Unload Vehicles: Load and unload vehicles as required, ensuring that cargo is properly secured for transport.
  • Perform Daily Vehicle Inspections: Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure that trucks are roadworthy and that safety and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Record Inspection Information: Record any inspection information or list of defects on the Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) as required by the FMCSA.
  • Use Electronic Logging Device (ELD): Use an electronic logging device (ELD) to log daily activities as required by the FMCSA.
  • Report Traffic Incidents: Report traffic incidents, including traffic accidents and violations, or damage to the vehicles to supervisory staff.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driving Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience with relevant cargo required.
  • Valid CDL: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) per assigned vehicle type required.
  • High School Diploma/GED: High School diploma/GED required.
  • Ability to Meet Company Insurability Standards: Ability to meet company insurability standards required.
  • Ability to Meet FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Requirements: Ability to meet FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse requirements.
  • Ability to Meet All Driver Qualification Requirements: Ability to meet all driver qualification requirements per Federal regulations (per 49 CFR part 391) required.
  • Ability to Meet Current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Quality Criteria: Ability to meet current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) quality criteria as defined by Federal regulations and/or company policy required.
Work Environment

This is a light work position that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The work environment is a warehouse/field setting with minimal temperature variations.
