Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at UP Health System – Marquette. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting diagnostic testing, and consulting with physicians to develop treatment plans.

About the Role:

  • Examines patients with breathing-related conditions and conducts diagnostic testing
  • Consults with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Performs physiotherapy and other treatments, and teaches patients to use medications

Responsibilities:

  • Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer
  • Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care
  • Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices
  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance, assessing patient condition and delivering appropriate treatment
  • Educates patients and families about their illness, provides information about community support groups, and monitors supplies

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree from a CoARC-approved respiratory care school
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS-HCP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Licenses: Respiratory Therapist in State of Michigan
  • 1 year related experience preferred

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience
