Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Customer Service Technician to join our team.

In this position, you will be responsible for delivering, setting up, and maintaining medical equipment, oxygen, and supplies, and providing instruction to patients and/or caregivers on proper use and maintenance.

You will also be responsible for providing customer service over the phone and in-person to patients and referral sources.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding the use of personnel protective safety equipment.
  2. Assist with updating respiratory grids.
  3. Be available for on-call assignments as needed.
  4. Complete all necessary delivery forms and paperwork, including invoices, work orders, manifests, and logs.
  5. Coordinate verification of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coverage information.
  6. Deliver, set up, and maintain equipment at the delivery address using company vehicles.
  7. Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
  8. Educate patients and/or caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of delivered items.
  9. Maintain assigned company vehicles in a clean and safe working condition.
  10. Maintain referral logs.
  11. Manage all aspects of intake, including answering phones, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, data input into IMBS, printing tickets, assembling charts, and processing paperwork.
  12. Monitor office supplies.
  13. Observe additional needs that patients may have and report them during morning meetings.
  14. Prepare CMNs/SOPs for Sales Reps and document on tracking logs.
  15. Prepare complete and accurate files for the Billing Department.
  16. Prepare tickets for daily routes.
  17. Provide service for walk-in patients.
  18. Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required.
  19. Work with location personnel to coordinate deliveries.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel

Travel via company vehicle is required to patients' homes for set-ups and recurring deliveries.

Qualifications

Employment is contingent on a background investigation, drug screen (when applicable), and a valid driver's license in the state of residence with a clean driving record (when applicable).

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Experience with medical equipment, preferred.
  • One year of related work experience, preferred.
  • Medical terminology, preferred.

  • Accurately perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Interpret a variety of communications, including verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual.
  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information.
  • Multi-task along with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
Machines, Equipment, and Technical Abilities
  • Email transmission and communication.
  • Internet navigation and research.
  • Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, printers, phones, and computers/tablets.
  • Mechanically inclined for the repair and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Successfully demonstrates loading, unloading, and proper tie-down procedures as per company policy for transported cargo.
  • Understands the use of all applicable home respiratory equipment and supplies.
Physical Demands
  • Lift and carry office equipment at times.
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening.
  • Requires close vision to small print on computers/tablets and paperwork.
  • Requires lifting (minimum of 65 pounds) and transporting of patient equipment.
  • Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens.
  • Requires driving a company vehicle for the majority of the workday.
