Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to lead our team of Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. As a Lead Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will provide leadership and supervision to our team, oversee quality assurance, and provide psychiatric care to inmates across the state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and supervision to a team of Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
  • Oversee quality assurance for services provided by the team
  • Identify, assess, and respond to inmates with mental health disorders and symptoms associated with drug and alcohol use
  • Care for the psychiatric needs of mentally ill offenders in-person or via telehealth
  • Prescribe Schedule II-V drugs as appropriate
Requirements
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
  • At least one year of experience providing a full spectrum of psychiatric care
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate and positively influence a professional team
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and techniques for assessing behavior, emotional, social, and psychological problems
