We are seeking a dedicated and skilled nursing professional to provide exceptional care in our acute and intermediate care unit specializing in cardiology. Our 25-bed unit employs a collaborative team approach to deliver patient and family-centered care for conditions such as heart failure and arrhythmias.

Role Summary:
The Clinical Nurse II is responsible for delivering competent clinical nursing care in accordance with established professional standards. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse coordinates and provides patient care using the nursing process within a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Education: Engage in identifying and addressing personal learning needs. Attend educational programs based on identified needs and utilize relevant patient education materials. Assess the readiness of patients and families to learn.
2. Care Evaluation: Identify expected patient outcomes and seek guidance for care plan revisions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care and ensure continuity of care.
3. Implementation: Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients with complex health issues, considering physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs. Conduct bedside point-of-care testing as necessary and adhere to nursing standards and protocols.
4. Leadership: Set goals for professional growth and work towards achieving them within designated time frames. Participate in unit goals and performance improvement initiatives, while promoting cost-effective care.
5. Patient Assessment: Analyze complex data to prioritize care needs and synthesize assessment information for effective communication. Anticipate discharge needs and foster relationships with families to support patient advocacy.
6. Planning: Collaborate with patients and families to develop or update care plans, utilizing multidisciplinary resources and addressing cultural considerations.
7. Research: Stay informed by reading relevant journals and sharing insights with the team to enhance practice.
Education Requirements:
● Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
● If hired after a specified date, enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Nursing is required within a designated timeframe.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
● Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
