CAD Designer

Job Summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our team. As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for designing frameworks for projects, working with engineers to develop product drawings, and creating detailed design documentation and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Design frameworks for projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop product drawings, incorporating feedback and revisions as needed.
• Produce detailed design documentation and drawings, utilizing CAD software and technical expertise.
• Assign project task scheduling, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
• Aid in the selection of materials for products, considering factors such as cost, quality, and sustainability.
• Produce final design specifications, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and ensuring accuracy.
• Maintain an organized file system for drawings, ensuring easy access and retrieval.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years' experience designing models and parts in a 3D CAD system.
• Experience in Engineering Change Management and drawing management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Technical Degree in a related field.
• Experience in SolidWorks.

Skills

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good typing skills and proficiency in CAD software.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Organization skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in design documentation.

Physical Demands and Safety Awareness

• Balfour Beatty US is committed to excellent Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) performance. Employees should have experience with, use appropriately, and encourage others to use Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) in the appropriate areas of our operation.
• For general manufacturing & warehousing areas with MEDIUM duty, employees should be able to exert or lift up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. Walking, bending, standing, and sitting are foreseen frequently.
• For general office areas with LIGHT duty, employees should be able to exert or lift up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 5 lbs. of force frequently. Both standing and sitting are foreseen frequently.
