Job Title: Equipment Appraiser

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Appraiser to join our team at Glockner Commercial Services. As an Equipment Appraiser, you will be responsible for evaluating the value of heavy trucks, trailers, and related commercial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the value of heavy trucks, trailers, and related equipment based on market conditions, equipment condition, and other relevant factors.
  • Develop and execute acquisition strategies to purchase equipment that meets the company's inventory needs and market demand.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for profitable acquisitions.
  • Attend and participate in equipment auctions, making informed bids based on thorough analysis and appraisal of potential purchases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers, auction houses, and other industry partners.
  • Work closely with the sales and finance teams to ensure the inventory aligns with customer demand and financial goals.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on equipment values, market conditions, and acquisition activities to senior management.
  • Ensure all acquisition activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment appraisal, purchasing, or acquisition within the heavy truck, trailer, or commercial equipment industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred not required).
  • Strong knowledge of heavy truck and trailer valuation and market dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret market data to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in appraisal and inventory management software.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
