Speech and Language Therapist Job Description

About The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Coarc. As a member of our special education department, you will work closely with children, teachers, and parents to provide individualized speech and language therapy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Therapy Plans: Create and implement comprehensive therapy plans for each child, focusing on their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide High-Quality Therapy Services: Deliver individual and group therapy sessions to children, using evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with teachers, clinicians, and other support staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.
  • Conduct Assessments and Evaluations: Perform thorough assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and weakness in each child's communication skills.
  • Communicate Effectively: Keep parents and caregivers informed about their child's progress through regular updates and progress reports.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all therapy sessions, progress, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree: A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of New York is essential.
  • Experience: One year of experience working with special education children is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
