Part Time Emergency Medical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part Time Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at Onslow County, NC. As a Part Time EMT, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services to emergency and non-emergency E-911 calls, and related work as apparent or assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Operate ambulances to respond to emergency calls and non-emergency calls.
- Provide basic life support techniques and first-aid procedures based on patient assessment and in accordance with established guidelines and written or verbal instructions from physicians.
- Gather basic medical and insurance information.
- Responsible for communication and documentation of patient medical information during transport to receiving medical care facility.
- Monitor patient during transport and administer additional care as needed.
- Perform assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
- Thorough knowledge of emergency medical care techniques and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of basic life support methods, procedures and equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
- Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, practices, techniques and equipment required for emergency medical treatment.
- Thorough knowledge of the street system and physical layout of the County.
- Ability to perform duties in emergency situations and to evaluate and differentially diagnose patient's conditions and communicate clearly with professional medical personnel.
- Ability to perform general emergency medical treatment and specialized cardiac treatment.
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency and stress situations.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relations with physicians, fellow employees and the public.
- Ability to prepare reports.
- Ability to read maps to research and locate patient destinations.
- High school diploma or GED with coursework in emergency medical services, or related field and moderate experience as a basic emergency medical technician, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possession and maintenance of certification by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Board as an Emergency Medical Technician.
- Possession and maintenance of CPR Certification by the American Heart Association.
- Valid driver's license.
