Job Summary:

As a Paramedic with Acadian Ambulance Service, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in emergency and non-emergency situations. Your expertise will be essential in delivering advanced life support care, transporting patients safely, and communicating effectively with medical personnel and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and provide prompt, efficient care within the scope of your licensure and certification.
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and use equipment as required by approved protocols.
• Safely transport patients in the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and well-being during transport.
• Provide clear, concise information to receiving personnel at the destination, ensuring seamless patient care transitions.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care, including documentation of treatments, medications, and vital signs.
• Conduct regular equipment checks and maintenance to ensure all necessary tools are in good working order.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with industry developments and best practices.

Work Environment:

As a Paramedic, you will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, responding to a wide range of emergency situations. You will be exposed to various weather conditions, hazardous materials, and other challenging scenarios. Your ability to remain calm, think critically, and communicate effectively will be essential in these situations.

Qualifications:

• National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
• Current CPR and ACLS certification as established by the American Heart Association.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and medical personnel.
• Ability to work in a team environment, prioritizing patient care and safety above all else.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.

Interpersonal Requirements:

• Maintain social, ethical, and organizational norms, ensuring a positive and respectful work environment.
• Achieve accomplishment of all task details, no matter how small, and maintain a sense of ownership of job tasks and results.
• Develop a sense of urgency for all work performed, prioritizing patient care and safety above all else.
• Maintain professionalism and respect with patients, colleagues, emergency service providers, healthcare workers, and the general public.
