We are seeking a skilled and experienced Traveling Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Job Summary

This is a 13-week contract position with a guaranteed 36 hours per week, with the possibility of accepting up to 48 hours. The shift requirement is 12-hour nights, with a start time of 6:30 PM. The float requirement is for the float pool, with a 2-hour notice given for cross-campus floats. Mid-shift floats within the same campus are also possible.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical surgical environment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and prioritize care accordingly.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, report changes, and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Current active compact license as a Registered Nurse.
  • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • 1 year of medical surgical experience, with a preference for 2 years.
  • 1 travel assignment required.
  • Trauma level 1 or 2 experience.
  • Tele experience is highly preferred.
  • Recent EPIC experience required, with a willingness to complete a checkoff class.
