Paraprofessional - Beulah Ralph Elementary

This position provides instructional support to students with special education needs under the supervision of a certified teacher. The ideal candidate will possess a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare instructional materials and reinforce previously taught concepts as directed by the teacher.
• Manage student behavior and maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
• Provide direct care and support to students, including feeding, toileting, and personal care, under the supervision of teachers and staff.
• Respond to student behavior in a calm and professional manner.
• Meet and escort students as needed.
• Demonstrate a positive and cooperative attitude when performing tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information.
• Attend and participate in required training and professional development opportunities.
• Adhere to district policies and procedures.

• Completion of the 20-hour Substitute Training Course or passing of the Paraprofessional Exam.
• 60+ college credits or official transcripts with 60 hours of college credit.
• Prior experience in a school setting and/or working with young people.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and produce written and oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills and utilize district-provided technology.

The selected applicant will work in a school environment that is noisy and active. The individual will be required to work outdoors to perform tasks such as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
