As a System Patient Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement to enhance overall patient care and organizational effectiveness.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead the system-wide vision, strategy, and implementation of patient safety across NYC Health Hospitals. This includes overseeing core functions of patient safety, collaborating with stakeholders, setting system-wide goals and priorities for improvement, and facilitating performance improvement teams.

You will work closely with facility leadership, clinical leadership, and frontline staff to develop and foster a culture of safety. Your expertise will be critical in identifying, measuring, and analyzing key performance indicators for patient safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set system-wide goals and priorities for improvement in patient safety
  • Collaborate with facility leadership, clinical leadership, and frontline staff to build performance improvement teams around patient safety in healthcare
  • Facilitate PI teams tackling multiple complex, system-wide patient safety initiatives
  • Identify, measure, and analyze key performance indicators for patient safety within the organization (e.g., National Patient Safety Goals)

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional with experience in health and medical service administration, public administration, personnel and labor relations, finance, or related fields. A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Health Care Planning, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline is preferred, along with 7 years of progressively responsible experience.
