Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician to join our team. This role involves performing routine calibration and testing activities on various equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.

The successful candidate will have proven success in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for a variety of instruments and devices. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing hands-on calibration of equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Disassembling instruments and inspecting components for defects.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed calibration records and maintenance documentation.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving calibration-related issues in collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Measuring parts for conformity with specifications.
  • Aligning, repairing, replacing, and balancing components and circuitry.
  • Developing formulas to solve problems related to measurements and calibrations.
  • Executing engineering and calibration portions of equipment qualifications.
  • Assisting in specifying instrumentation and standards.
  • Supporting the development of new and revised SOPs.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize calibration needs.
  • Coordinating calibration schedules, ensuring timely execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of calibration procedures and protocols.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant certification, degree, or diploma in a technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in calibration, preferably in the life science industry.
  • A strong understanding of regulatory requirements and calibration standards.
  • Strong knowledge of metrology principles and practices, as well as calibration/instrument repair techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong technical aptitude and mechanical inclination.
  • Proficiency in using calibration software and equipment.
  • Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel for project assignments and client engagements.
