Agricultural Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Sprayer Operator to join our team at GROWMARK, Inc. in Amboy, IL. As a key member of our agricultural team, you will be responsible for applying crop inputs to producer fields, operating and maintaining commercial sprayers and other equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of products.

• Apply crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates and procedures.
• Record application data according to regulations and standards.
• Set up and maintain material handling, blending, storage, transport, and application equipment.
• Blend products according to recommended rates and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and safely operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks, and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards.
• Perform and record daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment.
• Follow the preventative maintenance program and maintain a clean truck to present a professional appearance.
• Load and unload containers, pallets, or materials and products safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars.
• Ensure products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are met.
• Responsible for inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basis.
• Assure all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.
• Ensure all associated documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices, are completed accurately and returned to the branch location at the end of the day.

• Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years of related work experience.
• Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
• Must have or obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and valid medical card.
• Must hold and maintain, or have the ability to obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are applied.
• Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.

Occasionally exposed or required to extreme weather conditions, noisy conditions, and working conditions that may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards, requiring the utilization of appropriate safety measures.
