Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Juvenile Justice Technician. This part-time position offers the opportunity to work with delinquent adolescents in a secure confinement setting, providing direct care, supervision, and control. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning programs for youth, providing counseling and direct care in secure, multi-use, and community-based facilities.
  • Work under moderate supervision with delinquent adolescents in short and long-term secure confinement, observation, and assessment settings.
  • Oversee delinquent youth in group settings, individual encounters, visitations, and community involvement activities.
  • Schedule activities and resolve potentially dangerous situations to ensure the safety of staff, clients, and the public.
  • Write or draft correspondence, reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Coordinate and refer services of community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the court, and other community partners with families, clients, or patients receiving services.
  • Assist full-time staff in identifying and applying appropriate security, safety, and control intervention techniques or devices to secure people, facilities, property, supplies, or equipment.
  • Communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely in writing and read and understand information presented in writing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Utah driver's license.
  • Ability to physically intervene and restrain youth, if necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with troubled youth.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
