Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to support our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team at Ft. Meade, MD.

The DES program is a complex and demanding mission that requires expert technical and professional management to support DISA's enterprise Information Technology (IT) services. As a Network Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure network solutions to consolidate connectivity services under an enterprise service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure network architectures to meet performance, quality of service, security, and mission requirements.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and technical experts to perform legacy environment discovery, assessing current capabilities, configurations, and unique requirements.
  • Develop and implement secure wide area connectivity solutions, including underlay, overlay, and COI transport design.
  • Provide secure access solutions leveraging wired and wireless technologies, integrating standards, use cases/scenarios, and develop associated implementation and transition plans.
  • Collect, investigate, and identify network optimization strategies and techniques to meet capacity and performance standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with 12-15 years' experience or Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience.
  • Require network certification, such as CCNA, and active DoD IAT Level II (Security+) certification.
  • Experience documenting logical or physical designs using drawing tools, conducting technical troubleshooting, and creating or executing migration plans.
  • Heavily experienced in upgrading and lifecycle replacement of network devices and working with multiple vendor network technologies.
  • Must have broad exposure to common IT infrastructure networking in areas such as LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, Proxies, Routing (L2/L3), and Firewalls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent.
  • Experience in designing and implementing VTC solutions, enterprise network management tools, and system hardening of network infrastructure.
  • Expert knowledge of DoD security requirements for network infrastructure and experience in design and improvement of complex and geographically enterprise networks.
