Patient Service Representative II, Family Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative II to join our team at Sutter Health. As the first point of contact for patients entering our medical facility, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive experience for our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check-in patients, verifying information and scheduling appointments as needed.
  • Update Electronic Health Records (EHR) and facilitate intake procedures, including completion of healthcare and insurance forms and collection of payments for services.
  • Build confidence and cooperation with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through effective communication and competent job performance.
  • Adhere to all organizational, local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
  • May also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
  • 1 year of recent relevant experience.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as patient billing.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Possess written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel.
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Travel may be required as needed between Fairfield, Vacaville, and Vallejo locations.
