Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team at Walmart. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions that solve mission-critical business problems in building seamless experiences at point of sale for our customers.

About the Team:

Our team is responsible for developing and maintaining the software systems that enable our customers to checkout quickly and accurately. We are looking for a talented engineer who can lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in medium- to large-scale projects, reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, and gathering requested information.
  • Develop and implement software solutions, writing and developing code, conducting unit testing, and communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams and cross-functional teams, troubleshooting open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs.
  • Lead the work of other small groups of engineers, providing direction, examples, and feedback on proposed solutions.
  • Troubleshoot business and production issues, gathering information, engaging support teams, and formulating action plans.
  • Provide support to the business, responding to user questions, concerns, and issues, and facilitating resolutions and leading cross-functional partnerships.
  • Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects, partnering with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams to obtain cross-function approvals.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise and apply it to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans, providing expert advice and guidance to others.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions, building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, and determining necessary processes and practices.
  • Model compliance with company policies, procedures, and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Create software design and architecture for next software solutions, evaluating multiple solutions and articulating tradeoffs.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects, identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, and removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance.
  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives, consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in software application development.
  • At least 8 years of experience in ReactJs, JavaScript.
  • Architected design systems.
  • Experience building and deploying APIs and applications.
  • Experience in micro front-end architecture.
  • Experience with Redux, Charting.
  • Knowledge of Cloud, SQL, and CI/CD.
  • Mobile app development is a plus.
  • Have tech-led the team and guided engineers.
  • Able to break down a product goal into dev deliverables.
  • Approaches risks head-on with options to mitigate.
  • Ability to lead our technical relationship with partners and mentors a team of developers.
