About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer to join our team at Schnackel Engineers, Inc. in Miami.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to utilize their engineering expertise and skills to revolutionize the MEP/FP/IT engineering industry.

The selected candidate will have the chance to develop plumbing plans and specifications for architectural projects across North America using our innovative AI for MEP software platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with clients, MEP/FP/IT design teams, and other consultants to ensure consistent designs, identify conflicts, and maintain schedules.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls as needed.
  • Familiarize yourself with applicable project codes.
  • Create plumbing construction document packages using AutoCAD and other software, including fixture connections, equipment connections, piping diagrams, and associated schedules.
  • Perform calculations to support design decisions, including load calculations, pipe sizing, and equipment sizing.
  • Coordinate utility services with local providers and select suitable equipment with vendors' representatives.
  • Provide construction administration services, answering RFIs and mentoring colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Possess an ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering, Architectural Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous plumbing design experience with an MEP/FP engineering consultant is preferred.
  • Manage projects, drawing familiarity, permitting knowledge, and regulatory requirements.
  • Hold EI and/or PE credentials in Mechanical Engineering, with CPD certification desired.
  • Understand plumbing theory, system layout, sizing, flow characteristics, and previous experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, prioritizing tasks and multitasking effectively.
  • Work independently and efficiently with clear direction and information.
