About the Job

Ryder System Inc. is seeking a dedicated solo Class A CDL driver to join our team in Knoxville. As a solo driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to customers in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading and unloading freight, or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight as required by customers
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder drug test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures
Benefits
  • Weekly guarantee of $1155
  • Solo miles pay: $0.48 per mile with 2500 miles per week
  • Solo stops pay: $12.00 per stop with stops per week
  • Drop and hook pay: $6.00 per drop/hook
  • Sign-on bonus: $1000 at 30 days and $1000 at 90 days
  • Shutdown bonus: $2000 in 2 installments in the first year
  • Safety bonus: up to $250 quarterly if applicable
