Position Overview

The Information Assurance Specialist will deliver critical support to our government client. This role entails conducting cybersecurity assessments and providing support by implementing DoD security protocols across Local Area Networks (LAN) and associated network devices. The Information Assurance Specialist will leverage their expertise in standard Information Assurance (IA) principles, methodologies, and practices to effectively achieve objectives related to the enclave environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage various server and desktop systems, including Microsoft Server 2016, RedHat RHEL 7, and Oracle Solaris 10/11 Trusted Extensions Operating Systems.
  • Administer and supervise SonicWall NSA 3600 network security devices, ensuring both boundary and host-based protection.
  • Manage COMSEC keying materials and equipment across multiple sites, ensuring configuration and administration of NSA-approved Type 1 encryption devices in line with applicable policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain multiple interconnected network environments designed to deliver secure services.
  • Implement Baseline, Baseline+ Accessibility, and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) solutions categorized for Moderate-Moderate-Low impact levels.
  • Facilitate Low-to-Low and Low-to-High Assured File Transfer capabilities across various Classified networks.
  • Conduct audits of Baseline, Baseline+ Accessibility, and CDS environments to troubleshoot and uphold system stability.
  • Oversee Multi-Domain Video Network Switch management.
  • Maintain and manage Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) documentation for program offices and associated sites to ensure timely completion of required actions.
  • Execute successful Assessment and Authorization (A&A) events in support of program office initiatives.
  • Develop certification test plans for Baseline, Baseline + Accessibility, and Cross Domain Solution Enterprise-Wide Area Networks (WAN).
  • Evaluate information systems to verify compliance with security policies, procedures, and technical requirements using DISA SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC) tool and DISA STIGs.
  • Assist in hardware/software procurement by researching IA-approved equipment and gathering quotes.
  • Perform Entry/Exit inspections of hardware and software.
  • Assess potential IA security vulnerabilities and implement appropriate corrective and recovery measures for network devices.
  • Conduct Asset Management responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an Information Assurance/Cyber Analysis role.
  • DoD 8140/8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I cybersecurity certification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience and knowledge demonstrating proficiency with Solarwinds SEM and ACAS.
  • Experience in supporting secured environments with a solid understanding of RMF and JSIG. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Experience working within an enhanced security environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Monitoring and Auditing Windows/Linux and Unix-based operating systems.
  • Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in Solarwinds SEM, ACAS, STIG/SCAP, Bash Scripting, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
