Job Overview

The Arborist plays a crucial role in the upkeep of trees and woody plants, ensuring their vitality, safety, and aesthetic appeal. This position involves various tasks such as chemical treatments, repairs, cabling, fertilization, watering, pruning, and the removal of any dead or unhealthy trees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily crew activities including pruning, trimming, cutting, and other landscape maintenance tasks.
  • Engage with clients professionally, utilizing industry knowledge to educate and inform.
  • Possess a valid state-specific applicator's license.
  • Handle and store pesticide and herbicide solutions, ensuring proper mixing and application.
  • Utilize outdoor maintenance equipment and hand tools, and operate a motor vehicle legally.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work collaboratively or independently in various weather conditions.
  • Perform moderate to heavy physical labor consistently.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments on equipment as needed.
  • Provide guidance to team members in their daily tasks.
  • Adhere to all policies outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
  • Maintain accurate records of receipts and submit them promptly.
  • Dedicate necessary hours to ensure job completion to satisfaction.
  • Make decisions that align with the company's best interests.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all company equipment.
  • Support snow removal efforts during winter months.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to fulfill the company mission.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of relevant experience preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks throughout a typical workday, including lifting up to 80 pounds and frequently carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position, with specific schedules determined by weather conditions and business needs.
