Job Overview

Farm & Home Hardware is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in providing an exceptional customer experience, maintaining a clean and efficient sales floor, and assisting with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers, answering their questions, and suggesting add-on sales to help them complete their projects.
  • Maintain a clean and inviting sales floor, including housekeeping tasks, to create a positive shopping experience for customers.
  • Notify customers of upcoming promotions and new products to keep them informed and engaged.
  • Assist with loading products into customers' vehicles as needed and merchandise products according to prescribed planograms.
  • Restock shelves, take inventory, and face and front product throughout the store to ensure a well-organized and visually appealing store environment.
  • Help store staff with other tasks as needed and be vigilant in identifying shoplifters and other types of theft.
  • Attend all staff meetings and adhere to all store policies and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude.
  • A working knowledge of the products contained in the store with a willingness to continue learning.
  • Organized and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques, as well as point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Goals and Objectives
  • Boost overall sales by closing sales and promoting the store's loyalty program and add-on sales.
  • Continually expand knowledge of all departments in the store and become a versatile employee able to help in other areas when needed.
  • Take a personal interest in products sold in the store and gain the knowledge to make new product and merchandising recommendations to management.
  • After gaining experience, become a mentor to new employees and help them understand products and retail concepts.
