Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the functionality of all case packers, ensuring they operate correctly by managing the loading of materials and maintaining appropriate adhesive levels.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper operation of diaphragm (case coder) systems, verifying that liquids are adequately supplied and that printed information is clear and accurate.
- Manage the Adco machine, ensuring it operates smoothly by loading overwraps and maintaining glue levels.
- Supervise the overwrap coder, ensuring it is clean and that it dispenses accurate and legible information.
- Monitor and maintain capping machines, ensuring proper operation through effective loading of caps and adhesives.
- Provide coverage for fellow packaging machine operators during breaks and vacations.
- Check the legibility of dates on master shippers and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare equipment and materials for production runs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
- Encourage open communication and foster a positive workplace atmosphere.
- Exhibit regular and reliable attendance.
- Adhere to safety protocols, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ensure sanitary conditions to uphold product quality. Report any issues that may impact food safety or quality.
- Be accountable for the Food Safety and Food Quality of products.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a 2-2-3 schedule.
- One to three months of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and effectively communicating with groups.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and apply mathematical concepts.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to follow oral instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
