Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Fire Alarm and Security Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in diagnosing and resolving issues related to low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems. This role demands a comprehensive knowledge of fire alarm and security technologies, relevant software, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, maintenance, and evaluation of Fire Alarm systems and related technologies
  • Completion of all required documentation associated with maintenance and evaluations
  • Engage with clients before and after service calls to clarify the work conducted
  • Ensure prompt completion of assigned tasks
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and/or Scheduling Coordinator regarding project timelines, requirements, and overall job status
  • Participate in On-Call rotation as needed
  • May provide guidance to junior Fire and/or Security technicians on tools and technology

Required Skills:

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building regulations
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in the inspection, repair, and installation of fire alarm and security systems
  • Thorough understanding of low voltage systems
  • Experience with Fire-Lite and Notifier equipment
  • Ability to interpret blueprints
  • Proficient in computer and smartphone applications, particularly Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
