Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Designer to create and execute electrical systems for solar and energy storage initiatives. This position entails designing and refining electrical systems, overseeing project budgets and schedules, and upholding superior quality standards. You will collaborate closely with various engineering teams and support both the design and implementation phases.

Key Duties:

  • Design & Engineering: Develop comprehensive designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and energy storage solutions, including system layouts, equipment selection, and infrastructure planning. Execute AC/DC sizing calculations.
  • Project Oversight: Manage electrical design across multiple projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling constraints. Supervise utility-scale solar and storage projects.
  • Collaboration: Work in conjunction with civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines to integrate designs effectively. Ensure smooth project execution.
  • Quality Control: Perform electrical calculations and assessments, maintain high design quality, and ensure rigorous quality assurance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Remain informed about the latest equipment and best practices in renewable energy. Incorporate industry advancements into project designs.
  • Construction Assistance: Address inquiries from contractors and owners, engage in site assessments, and review construction documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5-7 years in electrical design within the renewable energy field, particularly in solar and energy storage.
  • Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software, MS Office, and knowledgeable about electrical construction methods. Experience with utility-scale PV projects and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) standards.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Capable of managing project scope, timelines, and budgets. Strong analytical skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects.
  • Team Collaboration: Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
