Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UC Davis Health. As a key member of our Advanced Practice Provider team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency and surgical services environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families.
  • Manage assigned patients, consults, and procedures independently.
  • Work collaboratively with physician colleagues to ensure timely consults and admissions.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice and standardized procedures.
  • Participate in patient and staff education.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and accountability for own practices.
Requirements
  • One year or greater experience as an ED or surgical service nurse practitioner required.
  • Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
  • California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
  • California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.
  • Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR Certification.
  • National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
  • Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
  • Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
  • Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years or greater recent clinical experience as an ED or surgical service Nurse Practitioner.
