Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UC Davis Health. As a key member of our Advanced Practice Provider team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency and surgical services environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families.
- Manage assigned patients, consults, and procedures independently.
- Work collaboratively with physician colleagues to ensure timely consults and admissions.
- Perform procedures within scope of practice and standardized procedures.
- Participate in patient and staff education.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and accountability for own practices.
- One year or greater experience as an ED or surgical service nurse practitioner required.
- Graduation with a master's degree, DNP, or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
- California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing License.
- California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) without restriction.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate within 3 months of hire.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR Certification.
- National NP board certification in aligned specialty with the practice area.
- Ability to cope with personal stress experienced by team members, other professionals, and caretakers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Judgement skills to effectively meet the needs of patients.
- Self-direction and organizational skills to function in an independent role.
- Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider.
- Three years or greater recent clinical experience as an ED or surgical service Nurse Practitioner.
