Position Overview

Fresh Mark, Inc. is seeking a dedicated leader in technical services to oversee and streamline activities related to preventive maintenance and the continuous enhancement of production machinery and facilities. A primary focus of this role will be to minimize equipment downtime due to technical challenges while upholding safety standards in an efficient manner.

The Technical Services Manager will play a crucial role in executing the technical services strategy and ensuring the successful attainment of production objectives. This will be achieved through effective leadership and collaboration with various teams including Technical Services, Operations, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Quality Assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with maintenance personnel, production supervisors, and support staff to coordinate technical services activities and resources, ensuring daily schedules are met and unplanned interruptions are addressed efficiently.
  • Analyze production line losses, assess the health of maintenance systems, and evaluate technician capabilities to prioritize technical support and enhancements.
  • Work with plant leadership to establish a vision for technical services support tailored to operational equipment.
  • Manage shift operations within the Technical Services Department to maintain equipment performance through ongoing improvements in maintenance systems and active participation in facility-wide initiatives.
  • Develop cost-effective repair strategies in collaboration with team members and manage the technical services budget effectively.
  • Monitor performance indicators and equipment trends to optimize operations and minimize both planned and unplanned downtime, achieving key performance targets.
  • Foster a positive labor-management relationship, emphasizing teamwork and high levels of employee engagement.
  • Champion a Safety-First culture and support the implementation of divisional and global safety standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and ethical standards, thereby minimizing risks to employees and the community.
  • Implement and uphold safe work practices, conducting annual reviews as necessary.
  • Effectively manage and develop maintenance staff, providing timely feedback, conducting performance evaluations, and preparing growth plans for team members.
  • Prioritize plant issues related to equipment breakdowns, projects, and preventive maintenance tasks, delegating responsibilities accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure maintenance supplies and spare parts for all equipment.
  • Plan and manage maintenance shutdown schedules to facilitate preventive maintenance activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, with a preference for supervisory experience in high-speed food production.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Maintenance & Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical, or equivalent) is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support team objectives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading maintenance improvement initiatives and developing personnel.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and change management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, maintenance management software, and technical skills related to machining and welding. Ability to interpret technical drawings is a plus.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High energy and a positive attitude, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to engage professionally with a diverse group of individuals.
