We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem Nurse to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Per Diem Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Coordination: Effectively coordinate the activities of the nursing unit, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among team members.
- Clerical: Perform a variety of office, secretarial, and other related duties to support the nursing unit, including managing intake and outbound documents, handling communications, and answering patient requests.
- Patient Care: Provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assisting with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and coordinating daily patient care activities.
- Inventory Control: Order, stock, and replenish unit supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner, participating in budget preparation and ensuring the unit stays within budget restraints.
- Communication: Communicate patient information, concerns, or issues to interdisciplinary team members, facilitating and directing communication among visitors, employees, and physicians within the assigned unit.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and assisting all customers, physicians, patients, visitors, and employees in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and healthcare team members.
- Reporting/Recordkeeping: Facilitate effective communication between disciplines by providing organized medical records, ensuring timely and accurate access to pertinent patient data, and maintaining unit-specific records and reports.
- Documentation: Document care provided using worksheets and/or the electronic medical record.
- Regulation: Adhere to professional standards, behavioral standards, and hospital policies, complying with applicable Local/State/Federal policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, laws, and statues, maintaining confidentiality by protecting personal healthcare information of all patients.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing role.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and proficiency in electronic medical records and other relevant software.
