Nursing Assistant, Certified, Long Term Care Professional

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents in a long-term care setting. As a member of the nursing team, the NA is expected to deliver high-quality care, follow infection prevention and control policies, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
Responsibilities- Provide basic health care needs, including daily living activities, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate, and create a positive dining experience.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed, and document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Assist with wellness and recreational programs and encourage residents to participate.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
