Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Staff Member to join our team at Watsontown Nursing and Rehab center. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of food handling, preparation, and storage techniques that comply with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Ability to apply regulations to work situations and supervise staff assistants.
- Appreciation of the importance of food preparation in enhancing quality of life for residents.
- Carry out all duties in accord with the facility mission and philosophy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and respect for the rights, dignity, and individuality of each resident in all interactions.
- Appreciate the importance of maintaining confidentiality of resident and facility information.
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and facility property.
- Able to understand and follow written and verbal directions, including menus, substitution lists, and labels.
- Able to effectively communicate with staff members and residents through verbal and/or written means.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior cooking and/or culinary experience in a large facility or hospital is a must.
- ServSafe Certification is a plus.
