Dental Hygienist

East Carolina University is seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our dental clinics.

This is a full-time position that requires a licensed Dental Hygienist to work under the direct supervision of a qualified dentist. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and revising patient histories, recording patient vital signs, and performing thorough oral prophylaxes (cleanings) on scheduled patients.

• Review and revise patient histories and record patient vital signs
• Help acquaint patients with preventive-oriented practice philosophy
• Chart existing restorations on new patients and record clinical and present disease
• Perform thorough oral prophylaxes (cleanings) on scheduled patients
• Explain treatment alternatives to patients and record specific treatment performed on patient chart
• Expose, process, and mount necessary x-rays
• Aid in chair-side assisting as necessary
• Handle sharpening, sterilization, and maintenance of all instruments and equipment

To be considered for this position, you must be a licensed Dental Hygienist in the State of North Carolina. A strong understanding of dental hygiene principles and practices is essential, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
