Responsibilities- Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Deliver High-Quality Care: Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patients' conditions. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure that patients' needs are met and that care is coordinated.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately and thoroughly document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in Unit Operations: Participate in unit operations, including maintaining a safe and clean environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Experience: One year of hospital clinical experience, preferably in a critical care setting.
- Licensure: Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, and Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) certification.
