Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant at Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to healthcare professionals, ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate efficient and effective patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate patient flow, preparing patients for visits and providing specific services and education as determined by providers.
  • Perform administrative duties, ensuring all information is current and updated, including maintenance and monitoring of electronic health records.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, work area, and equipment, and communicate any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
  • Communicate with patients and significant others in a manner consistent with caring and respect.
  • Collect and monitor patient data, reporting patient data and patient needs as directed.
  • Document care consistent with documentation guidelines and patient chargeable items/services according to standards.
  • Ensure processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency, engaging in process and quality improvement activities.
  • Engage in continuous study of the entire professional field, including best practices, to maintain professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program
  • 1 year of relevant experience working in a physician practice or healthcare setting
  • Certifications: CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA), CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CCMA), CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NCMA), CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NRCMA), CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
Work Environment

As a Medical Assistant at Corewell Health, you will work in a fast-paced medical office environment, interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and other team members. You will be required to stand, walk, and move frequently, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
