Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Renown Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing timely preparation and distribution of medications and IV solutions within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and distribute medications and IV solutions in accordance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist pharmacists in the timely and accurate distribution of medications, including entering medication orders into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Pull, prepare, and label medications based on orders entered by pharmacists.
  • Deliver medications to nursing units throughout the hospital and pull and deliver medications for automated dispensing machines.
  • Assist in the training of new technicians and participate in staff meetings and technician meetings.
  • Work varying shifts and days to meet the needs of the department, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Requirements
  • Registered by the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician training program or national certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • Working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and proficient math skills.
  • Specialized training is encouraged, and can be enhanced by completion of a recognized Pharmacy Technician training program or 1 year prior experience in a hospital or community pharmacy.
