Ultimate Staffing is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in project planning by determining timelines, labor requirements, material needs, and budget risks.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator, with familiarity with financial and project management principles. You will be responsible for analyzing requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project specifications, identifying key variables that impact cost estimates and other project metrics, and collecting firsthand information from suppliers and departments relevant to the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Determine labor requirements, material needs, and budget risks for each project.
- Utilize software to generate quotes and necessary routers for part construction.
- Review offers and quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
- Prepare and submit estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, and bidding competitions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers.
- Provide consultation on planning aspects such as schedules and manpower needs.
- Develop estimate options based on engineering inputs.
Requirements and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator.
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles.
- In-depth knowledge of research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas.
- Strong mathematical and IT skills with an analytical mindset.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Globalshop).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and reliability.
- Strong organizational skills.
- High School Diploma required; a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is beneficial.
- Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation is a plus.
