Job Summary

As a Senior Controls Engineer at InterSources Inc., you will play a critical role in designing and implementing advanced manufacturing automation systems. With a strong background in web handling applications and controls/drives programming, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex control systems, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes. Your expertise in Siemens Simatic and Simotion drives and controls will be invaluable in driving system optimization and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced manufacturing automation systems, including web handling applications and controls/drives programming.
  • Develop and maintain complex control systems, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to drive system optimization and efficiency.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industry experience with web-handling applications and controls/drives programming.
  • Intermediate knowledge of web handling production processes.
  • Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing systems.
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Siemens Simatic and Simotion drives and controls.
  • Working knowledge of other drives/controllers.
  • PLC logic development.
  • Mechanical/electrical systems knowledge.
  • Schematic proficiency.
  • Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and SCADA systems.

The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat, vibration and confined spaces. The employee is occasionally exposed to acidic or caustic chemicals. A respirator may be required at times. The noise level in the work environment varies from loud to quiet, with hearing protection provided.
