Job Overview

THIS POSITION IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED AND MAY CLOSE WITHOUT NOTICE

As a Recreational Aquatics Safety Officer, your primary responsibilities will include executing lifeguarding duties as mandated by certifying organizations; ensuring the prevention of incidents at aquatic venues and maintaining a state of readiness to act as a first responder; leading instructional programs; providing first aid support during special events as required; and managing pool upkeep and facility sanitation. Additional responsibilities encompass answering phone calls, welcoming visitors, and offering information and assistance to patrons. This role may necessitate lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and possess the ability to read and write at a level necessary for effective job performance. Current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR are mandatory prior to employment. (The Parks and Recreation Department provides certification courses.) Work hours will vary and may include evenings and weekends, with some shifts potentially starting early in the morning. Applicants are required to submit their availability with their application. Starting pay is $16.47 per hour.
