About the Role:
GAI Consultants is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the contractor's work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
- Coordinate with and take instructions from other senior inspection staff.
- Interpret plans and specifications.
- Monitor contractor's work for compliance with contract documents.
- Conduct construction documentation, including written reports and taking photos of onsite operations.
- Track site quantities, including construction math computation.
- Verify permit compliance.
- Verify materials, including taking field samples at required frequencies.
Certifications and Licenses:
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level 1
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection (preferred)
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts, including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures) (preferred)
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to work in rough terrain found on construction sites.
- Must be capable of walking in steep varying terrain in all climate conditions.
- Must be able to drive.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which includes bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
