Job SummaryWe are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented engineering interns to join our team at the Columbia Branch. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced project teams on interesting projects related to civil, bridge, highway, and water resource engineering.
Responsibilities- Engineering Analysis and Design: Assist in performing engineering analysis and design tasks, including preparing cohesive and organized engineering calculations.
- 3D CADD Software: Detail and draft using 3D CADD software, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
- Task Deliverables: Develop task deliverables for review by a Senior Engineer, and perform tasks according to the assigned schedule and budget.
- Field Inspections: Participate in field inspections of future project locations and active construction sites.
- Report Writing: Assist with report writing and other administrative tasks.
- A student pursuing a degree in engineering with a strong interest in civil/structural/highway engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Able to traverse a construction job site with varying terrain and elevation.
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR).
- Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents.
- Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material.
