Job SummaryWe're seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Order Entry Specialist to join our team. As a Pharmacy Order Entry Specialist, you will be responsible for entering incoming orders for pharmacy services, informing customers of receipt, pricing, shipping dates, and delays of orders, and responding to customer inquiries.
Key Responsibilities- Enter customers' names, addresses, and billing information, product numbers, and specifications of items to be purchased into the order entry system.
- Verify and enter physician information into the system.
- Enter new medication orders and refills.
- Sort, correlate, and distribute copies obtained from fax machines.
- Receive and respond to customer complaints and/or issues. Forward escalated concerns to the Order Entry Supervisor.
- Review and verify customer and order information for correctness, checking it against previously obtained information as necessary.
- Assist specified departments in the preparation and shipment of orders to designated locations.
- Check inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise.
- Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing.
- Meet Expectations of Excellence for position.
- Support facilities, departmental goals, and the overall objectives of the Company.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and standards of ethical conduct.
- Perform all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team-oriented approach.
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
- Proficient math skills
- Preferred Pharmacy Technician experience/License
- Computer knowledge
- Customer service skills
- Telephone etiquette skills
- Able to sit for long periods of time
- Available to work overtime
- Available to work holidays and weekends
- Knowledge of medical language and abbreviations
- Detail-oriented
- High school diploma or GED
