Position Overview
This role involves functioning as an integral member of a healthcare team, delivering quality medical care while collaborating with and working under the supervision of a physician.
Qualifications
Required:
- Licensed Physician Assistant in California
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Graduate of an accredited PA program or certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Bilingual skills are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain comprehensive health histories, including obstetric, gynecologic, medical, surgical, family health, and psychosocial aspects, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Conduct general examinations, diagnostic tests, and specialized procedures as indicated by patient history and complaints, adhering to established protocols.
- Provide specialized and advanced practice services within the scope of training.
- Educate patients on medication, disease management, health promotion, and care instructions.
- Follow up on abnormal findings promptly, addressing patient clinical needs and making referrals as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliance with quality improvement standards.
- Consult with the supervising physician as needed and review complex cases according to established protocols.
- Engage in ongoing continuing medical education and share updates with the clinical team.
- Participate in organizational quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on clinical processes.
- Coordinate clinic coverage with other providers and offer backup support as needed.
- Deliver care within a team-based, patient-centered framework, involving patients and their families in decision-making regarding their care.
- Utilize evidence-based practice guidelines and resources for clinical practice.
Additional Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with all members of the care team and support staff.
- Act as a clinical team leader for safety, training, and staff support as required.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the diverse populations served.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $70.09 - $105.14.
