Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Care Specialist to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. This role involves promoting recovery and resiliency for individuals through coordination and collaboration with various internal and external partners.

About the Role: As a Behavioral Health Care Specialist, you will work with complex and high-risk cases, engaging consumers in the treatment process, reducing their reliance on higher levels of care, and helping them access appropriate community services. You will also identify and remove barriers to service procurement, delivery, participation, and success.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced clinical skills to engage and motivate consumers via a recovery-oriented approach.
  • Assist consumers and their families/caregivers with connections to psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial referrals and services.
  • Identify and remove barriers to service procurement, delivery, participation, and success.
  • Provide telephonic supportive follow-up, monitoring, and education.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage/Family Counseling, or an RN with 2+ years of experience in behavioral health.
  • Active, independent, and unrestricted licenses in the state of California.
  • 2+ years of experience in a related mental health setting.
